Lesson 3 Anchoring, Jetties & Mooring
One of the most stressful tasks to a student sailor is berthing the yacht in a marina, common concerns are:
- Will I hit another vessel?
- How can I turn quickly?
- My boat reverses poorly, how can I get out?
- People are watching me, I am more likely to make a mistake
- The wind is strong and blowing me against other vessels
- I cant find my birth / visitors birth
- Going to the re-fueling jetty when it is busy
- Did I make that last boat insurance payment? !!
- If speed is my enemy then how do I maintain steerage?
